Tyre Nichols Police Brutality Video Is Released
On January 27, 2023 during primetime the Memphis police department released the highly anticipated video of the traffic stop and subsequent murder of Tyre Nichols by the hands of five officers. The video was expected to cause outrage due to the violent and brutal treatment of Tyre at the hands of the officers. Protests have sprung up across the country to express outrage towards these officers and the treatment of black and brown people by police in America. The officers were fired and arrested within 25 days after Tyre’s death. Some have pointed out that white cops typically have longer investigations and these black officers aren’t receiving the usual protection of the shield.
Stephen A Smith Apologizes For Comparing Rihanna and Beyonce
During an appearance on the daytime television show Sherri, Stephen A Smith decided to let Rihanna and all of America know “She aint no Beyonce”. Not sure what reaction he thought that comment would get but he was met with serious backlash and anger from not only Rihanna’s Navy but also people who are sick of seeing black women pitted against each other with unnecessary comparisons. Soon after Stephen A took to social media to offer an apology to Ri Ri in an attempt to not let negative energy ruin the release of his new book “Straight Shooter”. Not sure if Rihanna accepted the apology but I’m sure between being a mogul, a mother, counting her billions and preparing for the upcoming Superbowl halftime show, aint nobody got time for that.
Beyonce Receives $24 Million Dollars To Perform In Dubai
Beyonce headlined a private concert in Dubai to for the grand opening of Atlantis The Royal, a new luxury hotel. She performed for one hour for 1500 people and received $24 million dollars. Members of the LGBTQ+ community are upset that Beyonce performed in country where gay relationships are punishable by law. Hate it or love it I cant knock her hustle.
